News flash: the NBA Championship series has ended and the Los Angeles Lakers are the 08-09 NBA Championship team. the Lakers are the winners. the Lakers are the number one team. Los Angeles Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson. now Kobe has a ring without Shaq.
the Orlando Magic played a valiant season in like a king-arthur-and-the-round-table-swordfighting-and-playing-NBA-basketball kind of way. damn! that's alot of hyphens. Dwight Howard played like a madman and he really did his best to win those games. he is an NBA Titan! Dwight Howard! they call him Superman. and he lived up to it, in the professional NBA League. other credit goes to Hedo Turkoglu (that is from memory) and Rashard Lewis, who are officially bad-asses. those dudes are nice with the ball. they beat Boston, they beat Cleveland and they really could have beaten Los Angeles. but they didn't.
and so, with the Dallas Mavericks getting knocked out in round 2 of the playoffs, having eliminated the Spurs, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Nuggets who had subsequently elimated the Mavs, the Los Angeles Lakers having elimated the Houston Rockets and the Atlanta Hawks having been elimated by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Orlando came much farther than anyone thought they would. they're a damn good team. but they are not as good as the Los Angeles Lakers. the Lakers are the best team. for whatever reason, it is a fact we now know.
anyway, to get into details, Derek Fisher hit 2 3-pointers at the end of game 4 in overtime. so...nice job Derek Fisher. Pau Gasol did a media thing with some opera singer whose name I can't remember. and that is really saying something about how much interest I have in opera. Trevor Ariza made several 3-pointers and basically earned his dough too. they all get paid so shit yeah dudes, make some shots. Lamar Odom was good at stuff, Bynum did stuff...the Lakers won.
this is an Epic Blog because I am declaring, or I am relaying, in an important manner, the end of the National Basketball League professional basketball season 2008-2009 - many interesting things happened and will probably also happen next year.
